The plein air is aimed at anyone seeking contact with the elements, earth, fire, water and air. All four will accompany the birth of Raku ceramics.
Raku is a firing technique referring to the tradition of feudal Japan and is closely related to the tea ceremony.
Our meeting will cover various glazing and firing techniques.
The workshops include:
*substantive part - lecture (discussion, each technique)
*various glazing techniques (applying a paper mask, glazing with a brush, dipping, pouring)
*raku firing, in a gas kiln with reduction / with crackles / with fumigation
*horse hair / feathers, milk, sugar, honey
*obwara / żurek / bełtucha
*combining techniques, various techniques for obtaining effects
*two-stage naked raku
*copper matt, + glaze preparation
*saggar in a clay mask / paper / with oxides
*black ceramics
*ecoprint on ceramics
*papergift
*additionally - preparation of glazes for raku, including volcanic glaze
*RAKU kiln user manual
*paper kiln / or barrel / pit kiln, depending on the weather
What to bring:
*work fired to bisque. Preferably from clay with fireclay (e.g. Sio2 Prai, Praf, , CJ 9GS. SBK,
wojatszek garncarska st4, Sibelko with fireclay Raku)
Two works perfectly polished to naked raku, these works should be polished well to horse hair and to saggar, black and ekoSprint.
Please prepare up to 10 works in the size of: up to 12 cm in diameter x up to 23 cm in height, Ready biscuits from the studio: (Set of 10 pieces, raku set - 490 z please let me know
preferably up to 3 weeks before the plein air) single 30 - 70 PLN
Please bring:
*Apron and favorite tools, brushes
*masks, disposable gloves
*Warm clothes that can get dirty
*flashlights, headlamps
*Do you do something, show off your passion

The amount includes the cost of the workshop (materials, firing, glazes, tools etc.), accommodation and meals paid separately.
The number of places is limited - 10 places!
For groups/couples/friends ---> 2 or more participants 5% discount
for repeating the plein air 5% discount. Discounts are not cumulative.
Accommodation: Marina Bajana Stare Sady. Detached houses for 3-5 people/ PLN 500 per day
Meals: on your own, access to the kitchen in each house.
